UK Partners Against Crime (UKPAC), who partner with Hampshire and Isle of Wight Police, has announced the appointment of John Unsworth as its new Managing Director, effective 1 August 2026, marking a significant milestone in the organisation's continued growth and strategic development.

Current Chairman Gareth Lewis will continue in his role leading the UKPAC Group, working closely with John as the organisation builds on its strong foundations and further enhances its intelligence-led approach to protecting businesses and communities.

John joins the UKPAC Group from Mitie, where he most recently served as Director of Crime & Intelligence. He brings extensive experience in security, intelligence and operational leadership, alongside a proven track record of delivering high-impact, intelligence-led solutions in complex and fast-moving environments.

His appointment reflects UKPAC's commitment to strengthening its intelligence capabilities, operational excellence and collaborative approach as it continues to evolve in response to increasingly sophisticated crime threats.

Commenting on the appointment, Gareth Lewis, Chairman of UKPAC, said: "I am delighted to announce that John Unsworth will be joining UKPAC as Managing Director. I very much look forward to welcoming John to the business and working closely with him as we lead UKPAC into its next phase of growth.

"John brings a wealth of experience across security, intelligence and operational leadership, with an outstanding track record of delivering intelligence-led solutions in challenging environments. His background aligns perfectly with UKPAC's strategic direction as we continue to strengthen our intelligence capability and enhance the value we deliver to our members, partners and clients.

"Beyond his technical expertise, John is recognised for his collaborative leadership style, his ability to build high-performing teams and his focus on innovation and continuous improvement. I am confident he will make an immediate and lasting contribution across the organisation.

"This is an exciting step forward for the entire UKPAC and NRCA team. John will work alongside colleagues across the business to build on the excellent foundations already in place while helping unlock new opportunities for growth, capability and client service.

"I know our members and partners will join me in welcoming John to UKPAC, and we look forward to providing opportunities for everyone to meet and engage with him over the coming weeks."

As Managing Director, John will oversee the next stage of UKPAC's strategic development, supporting the organisation's mission to deliver industry-leading intelligence, crime prevention and collaborative solutions that help businesses combat crime and protect their people, assets and communities.

John added: “I’m delighted to be joining UK Partners Against Crime as it enters an exciting new phase of its development. What first drew me to the organisation was its strong track record of bringing partners together to tackle some of the most pressing challenges facing businesses today. What excites me most is our vision for the future and the opportunity to help shape the next chapter of its impact.

"Business crime continues to present one of the most significant challenges facing organisations across the UK. At the same time, partnerships between industry, government and law enforcement are becoming stronger, more collaborative and more effective. As those partnerships continue to mature, organisations like UK Partners Against Crime have never been more important in convening expertise, sharing intelligence and driving collective action.

“I look forward to working alongside our members, partners and stakeholders to build on the organisation’s strong foundations, embrace new opportunities for innovation and strengthen the partnerships that will help create a safer and more resilient business environment across the UK.”

His arrival comes at a time of increasing demand for intelligence-led approaches to tackling crime, further reinforcing UKPAC's position as a trusted partner for businesses, law enforcement and the wider security community.
