A major step forward in tackling retail crime across the South West

As part of Safer Business Action Week (SaBA), UK Partners Against Crime (UKPAC) is proud to announce the launch of Direct to Police Reporting (DTPR) through the SentrySIS platform in partnership with Devon & Cornwall Police and the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner for Devon, Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.

This important development allows retailers and members of the UKPAC intelligence-sharing platform to report shop theft and related business crime directly into police systems — securely, efficiently and to a high evidential standard.

How it works

Incidents meeting the required reporting criteria can now be submitted straight into police systems for rapid review, prioritisation and action.
Where reports do not yet meet the full CPS standard, they are processed by UKPAC’s analysts, who work to link repeat offenders and build case files that support police investigations.

CPS-ready evidence packs: saving valuable police time

One of the most significant benefits of this new process is the creation of CPS-ready crime packs at the point of report.
Through SentrySIS, businesses can submit:

  • MG11 witness statements
  • business impact statements
  • CCTV files
  • images of suspects
  • till receipts
  • full incident logs

All in a single, GDPR compliant, organised evidence bundle.

Providing this level of completeness at the outset saves officers substantial investigative time, reduces duplication, and ensures that cases move more efficiently through police and CPS gateways.
This improved quality and consistency enables police teams to focus their time where it matters most.

Collaboration in action

This joint initiative represents months of coordinated work between UKPAC, Devon & Cornwall Police, the PCC’s office and SentrySIS, and demonstrates the impact of true partnership working.
Local officers have already highlighted how streamlined reporting allows better targeting, faster information flow and stronger outcomes for both retailers and communities.

“Together, we’re building safer towns and cities — one report at a time.”

A shared mission

UKPAC continues to work with multiple agencies across Devon, Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly to standardise reporting, intelligence and evidence-building.
This new capability strengthens the entire ecosystem of retail crime prevention — from front-line reporting to police prosecution and community reassurance.
